The benefits of Thai massage

What you take home, in body and in mind.

  • Deep full-body relaxation

Slow stretches and palm pressure release your body piece by piece, from the soles of your feet to the crown of your head. Days of tension simply let go.

  • Release of muscle tension

Yoga-like stretches give stiff muscles their suppleness back and joints their range. You get up lighter and taller.

  • Circulation & renewal

Warmth and the rhythm of touch get your circulation going and support your body’s natural recovery. You feel yourself waking from within.

  • Relief from stress

The slow rhythm of touch calms your breath and your thoughts. Tension gives way to a deep calm you carry home.

  • Lightness & a lifted mood

After the massage a gentle warmth and quiet contentment spread through you. You leave with a smile and a clear head.

  • A quiet mind

Dimmed light, the scent of herbs and soft music lift you out of the city’s rush. Over warm tea afterwards, all that’s left is here and now.

More about the benefits of Thai massage

A therapist stretches a guest’s arms above her head during a traditional Thai massage, fully clothed and without oil

How Thai massage works

Traditional Thai massage is given through loose clothing and without oil. Your therapist presses the points along the ten energy lines (in Thai, sen) and alternates the pressure with yoga-like stretches. The oil massages are gentler: less pressure, more flowing strokes and natural oils free of parabens and artificial colourings.

Your visit

  1. A welcome drinkWe greet you with a drink that changes colour in front of you. Your therapist asks about your wishes and your health.
  2. A massage made for youYou change in private; for the traditional Thai massage we lend you comfortable clothes. Your therapist adjusts the pressure to what feels good to you.
  3. Warm tea to finishAfter the massage, take a quiet moment over a cup of warm tea.

Born from a love of Thailand

We lived in Thailand for several years and came to know authentic Thai massage where it was born. Then we brought it to Prague and opened ESCAPE: a Thai island in the heart of Europe.

Your questions about Thai massage

How much does a Thai massage cost in Prague?

At ESCAPE, the Traditional Thai Massage costs 1,690 CZK for 60 minutes, 2,190 CZK for 90 and 2,690 CZK for 120 minutes. The Thai Oil Massage costs 1,790 CZK for 60 minutes, 2,290 CZK for 90 and 2,790 CZK for 120 minutes. The Aromatherapy Massage costs 1,890, 2,390 and 2,890 CZK, and the Thai Couples Massage 3,490, 4,190 and 4,890 CZK for both of you (always for 60, 90 and 120 minutes). Shorter targeted massages start at 1,190 CZK for 30 minutes, the Tranquility Ritual at 2,190 CZK. A welcome drink and warm tea after your massage are included. You’ll find every price in our price list, and more in our article on what a Thai massage costs.

Which massage should I choose for my first visit?

We recommend 90 minutes, so you have enough time to relax. The Aromatherapy Massage is ideal. Want deep pressure and stretching without oil? Choose the Traditional Thai Massage. Is it mostly your back and neck? The Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage will help.

Which massages do you offer besides Thai massage?

Besides the Traditional Thai Massage, the Thai Oil Massage, the Aromatherapy Massage and the couples massage, we offer the Tranquility Ritual, the Coconut Oil and Hemp Oil Massage, the Slimming Massage, the Hot Stone Massage, the Thai Herbal Compress Massage, the Sports Massage and the gentle Pregnancy Massage. Shorter targeted massages focus on one part of the body: the Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage, the Foot & Leg Massage, the Hand & Palm Massage and the Anti-Stress Massage. You’ll find all 16 massages with prices in our price list.

How do I book a massage?

The easiest way is online: you’ll see the available times and choose your massage and its length. You can also book by phone on +420 734 331 444 or via WhatsApp. Walk-ins are welcome whenever we have a free slot, but we are usually fully booked, so we recommend booking ahead. You can cancel or change your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before.

How can I pay?

You don’t need to pay in advance. Pay online when you book (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay), or later at the salon by card or in cash (Czech crowns or euros). You can also pay with a gift voucher. Cash is 4% cheaper: the card fee we save goes to you.

Where can I find you, and where can I park?

A few steps from Old Town Square in the centre of Prague, at Elišky Krásnohorské 133/11, 110 00 Prague 1 (Josefov). The nearest metro station is Staroměstská (line A), and the Právnická fakulta tram stop is about 200 m from the salon. You can park at the Rudolfinum garages (about a 6-minute walk) or at Parking Palladium (about 10 minutes). We are open daily 10:00–22:00; please arrive 15 minutes early. Open in Google Maps, or see our contact page.

What is Thai massage?

Thai massage is a traditional technique more than 2,500 years old. It combines acupressure, yoga-like stretching and work along ten energy lines (in Thai, sen). More in our article on what Thai massage is.

What are the effects of Thai massage?

It releases muscle tension, and the stretching gives stiff muscles their suppleness back and joints their mobility. Pressure along the energy lines boosts circulation and supports the body’s recovery. The slow rhythm calms your breathing and your mind, which eases stress. More in our article on the effects of Thai massage.

How should I prepare for my massage?

Please arrive 15 minutes early. It’s best not to eat for an hour before, to skip alcohol and to drink plenty of water. For the traditional Thai massage we lend you comfortable clothes, and you are welcome to take a shower after it. Step by step in our article on how a Thai massage works.

Do your therapists speak English?

Yes, our whole team speaks fluent English.

How often should I have a Thai massage?

For the best effect we recommend once a week. If time doesn’t allow, make time for a massage at least once a month. More in our article on how often to have a Thai massage.

When should I skip a Thai massage?

If you have a cold or feel unwell, it’s better to postpone your massage. With a long-term health condition, ask your doctor whether massage is right for you. During pregnancy, choose the gentle Pregnancy Massage.

Can children or seniors have a massage?

Yes, there is no age limit, and we always adapt the technique and the pressure. Children and seniors usually prefer gentler oil massages, such as the Thai Oil Massage.

Can I give a Thai massage as a gift?

Yes. You can buy a voucher for a specific massage, or credit of 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 or 25,000 CZK (from 5,000 CZK with 5–15% off). The PDF arrives by email right after payment. You can collect a printed voucher in an elegant gift envelope at the salon free of charge, or we send it by courier within the Czech Republic for 199 CZK. Valid for 12 months.
