Feeling heavy after a winter with little movement? Slimming massage combines brisk, stimulating strokes with elements of maderotherapy, work with wooden tools. Using oil, the therapist works through your thighs, buttocks, hips and back, and where suitable your abdomen, and leaves your skin pleasantly warm.
It suits anyone with a desk job and complements regular exercise. It isn’t a miracle or a substitute for movement but pleasant, kick-starting care: afterwards you feel lighter and your skin is soft to the touch. In our salon a few steps from Old Town Square, you are massaged by certified therapists from Southeast Asia, trained at renowned schools there.

How it works at ESCAPE
- WelcomeAt reception we welcome you with a drink that changes colour in front of you. Then you undress to your comfort, keeping your underwear on (disposable underwear is ready if you prefer it), and on the massage table we cover you with a soft towel. Only the area the therapist is working on is ever uncovered.
- Hands, oil and wooden rollersAfter a short consultation, the therapist alternates brisk, oiled strokes with wooden tools, warming your thighs, buttocks, hips and back, and where suitable your abdomen. You lie face down first, then on your back. The pressure is firmer, but she sets it to your fitness and sensitivity and will soften or deepen it whenever you ask.
- Warm tea to finishAfter the massage, take a moment to rest over a cup of warm tea. You are welcome to take a shower if you like.
Please arrive 15 minutes early, so you can start without rushing. The massage works best as regular care in a series, together with movement. We don’t recommend it during pregnancy; for mothers-to-be we offer the gentle pregnancy massage.
the story behind it
Origins and tradition
Manual lymphatic drainage, a sequence of light, rhythmic hand movements, was developed by the Danish couple Emil and Estrid Vodder, who began it on the French Riviera in 1932 and presented it in Paris in 1936. Maderotherapy, massage with wooden tools, took its modern form in Colombia in the late 20th century. ESCAPE’s slimming massage borrows elements of both: they take up roughly 70% of the time, and the rest is massage.

Your questions about the slimming massage
What will I feel after the massage?
You feel lighter, with warm, soft skin, straight after the massage. We don’t promise miracles for your figure, though.
Is a slimming massage painful?
The pressure is firmer, but always bearable. The therapist sets it to your fitness and sensitivity and will soften or deepen it whenever you ask.
What is maderotherapy?
The name comes from the Spanish madera, wood: wooden tools work alongside the therapist’s hands. A classic set has smooth, ridged and segmented rollers and other tools of smoothly sanded wood. At ESCAPE your therapist alternates her hands with wooden rollers.
Is it lymphatic drainage?
Only in part. Classic manual lymphatic drainage uses light pressure and rhythmic circular movements; the slimming massage borrows only elements of it, with medium to firm pressure. It is a massage for a feeling of lightness, not a medical procedure.
Do I have to undress?
Yes, the oil goes directly on the skin. You keep your underwear on (disposable underwear is ready if you prefer it), and on the massage table we cover you with a towel, so only the part of the body the therapist is working on is ever uncovered. You don’t need to bring anything special; for details see What to bring to a massage.
How often should I repeat it?
We recommend a series, ideally once a week, together with regular exercise. Book your first appointment; you can arrange the next ones at reception after the massage.
Does it replace exercise?
No. It doesn’t replace movement, but it is a great complement to it and to a healthy lifestyle. For sore muscles after training, choose the sports massage instead.
How much does a slimming massage cost in Prague?
At the ESCAPE salon in Prague 1, a slimming massage costs 2,090 CZK for 60 minutes, 2,590 CZK for 90 minutes and 3,090 CZK for 120 minutes. A consultation, massage oil, a welcome drink and warm tea after the massage are included. You’ll find all our other massages in the price list.
How do I book, and how long does the massage take?
You can choose 60, 90 or 120 minutes. We recommend 90 minutes, so the therapist can work calmly through your thighs, buttocks, hips and back. Book online in a few clicks, by phone on +420 734 331 444 or via WhatsApp.
How can I pay?
Online when you book (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay), or later at the salon by card or in cash (CZK or EUR). You can also pay with a gift voucher. Cash is 4% cheaper: the card fee we save goes to you.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes, cancelling or changing your booking is free up to 24 hours ahead. Just call +420 734 331 444, message us on WhatsApp or email info@escapemassage.cz. We charge no fee for later cancellations; we only ask you to let us know in time.
Where in Prague can I get a slimming massage?
You’ll find the ESCAPE salon a few steps from Old Town Square, at Elišky Krásnohorské 133/11, 110 00 Prague 1 (Josefov). The nearest metro station is Staroměstská (line A). We are open daily 10:00–22:00; please arrive 15 minutes early.
Can I give a slimming massage as a gift?
Yes. Buy a voucher for this massage, or credit of 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 or 25,000 CZK (from 5,000 CZK with 5–15% off). The PDF arrives by email right after payment. A printed voucher in an elegant gift envelope can be collected at the salon, or a courier brings it to you anywhere in the Czech Republic, usually within 2 working days, so you can hand it over in person. Valid for 12 months.
