Finger, palm and wrist massage for hands that work all day
Keyboard-stiff fingers loosen, palms warm through and tired wrists get a rest.

Eight hours at the keyboard, mouse and phone take their toll. Fingers stiffen, palms clench, hands grow heavy and a dull tension creeps from the wrists up into the forearms. Programmers, designers, musicians, drivers and anyone doing fine work with their hands know it best.
A hand and palm massage unwinds that strain right where it sits. The therapist releases the finger joints, warms the palms, works through the reflex points of the palms and fingers and stretches overworked wrists, with argan oil. You leave with hands that feel light and mobile again.
If the tension from the keyboard runs up into your shoulders, add the Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage. At our salon a few steps from Old Town Square, you are in the hands of therapists from Southeast Asia, trained at renowned schools there.
What you take home
- Looser fingers and palmsThe stiffness of a day at the keyboard lets go, the finger joints move freely and clenched palms open up again.
- Warm palmsWe can warm the argan oil if you like, and under slow strokes your palms turn pleasantly warm right to the fingertips.
- Stretched wristsWrists that hold a mouse and phone all day are gently stretched and massaged, one hand at a time.
- A quiet mindFor once your hands hold nothing, type nothing and click nothing, and as they settle, so does your mind.
How it works at ESCAPE
- You arrive and slow downAt reception we welcome you with a drink that changes colour in front of you. There is no need to undress fully: you only take off the clothes on your upper body. Then you lie on your back and we rest your arms on a cushion or towel.
- The therapist releases every fingerFirst she asks what troubles your hands and what pressure feels good. Then, with gentle strokes and stretches, she gradually releases one hand at a time: fingers, palms and wrists, and the forearms in a longer massage, with argan oil, and adjusts the pressure whenever you want.
- A cup of tea to finishBefore your hands go back to the keyboard, take a moment to rest over a cup of warm aromatic tea.
Please arrive 15 minutes early, so you can start without rushing.
the story behind it
Origins and tradition
The Thai verb nuat means more than to massage: the same word is used for kneading dough, nuat paeng, and for threshing rice. Hand massage is nuat mue, the palm fa mue, ‘the flat of the hand’, and the wrist kho mue. Pressed palms are also how Thais greet each other: in the wai, they meet at chest level with a slight bow of the head. Here, your palms, fingers and wrists get a whole massage to themselves.

hands like new
Care for the hands that do so much every day
All day they type, click and hold a phone. Here, for a while, they don’t have to do anything: in soft light and silence the therapist gives her full attention to your palms, wrists and fingers, and the tension they gathered over the day slowly lets go.

Your questions about hand and palm massage
How long should a hand massage be?
For a quick release, 30 minutes is enough. To really switch off, choose 60 minutes: the therapist takes her time with your fingers, palms and wrists, and possibly your forearms, while you settle into complete calm.
Does a hand massage help with computer work?
It is made exactly for hands that work all day: it eases the tension of one-sided strain at the keyboard, mouse and phone. But it is relief, not treatment: tingling, numbness or wrist pain that won’t go away (for example with carpal tunnel syndrome) belongs with a doctor first. The same goes for marked swelling, a recent hand injury, fracture or surgery, or a suspected blood clot; the therapist leaves out an open wound, a burn or a skin infection. Our article Massage contraindications explains when it is better to postpone a massage.
Do you use oil for the hand massage?
Yes, argan oil, and balm if you like. You only take off the clothes on your upper body, so the therapist can work on your forearms too.
Is it a palm reflexology massage?
Partly. The therapist also focuses on the reflex points of your palms and fingers, but the main aim is relief for hands overworked by the keyboard, mouse and phone. You can read more about reflexology on our Reflexology massage page.
Can it be combined with another massage?
Yes, your hands pair beautifully with the Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage. Add the combination as a note to your booking or give us a call and we’ll arrange it. When you book online, you can also add 30 minutes of anti-stress massage at the end, for 590 CZK instead of 1,190 CZK.
Aren’t the hands too small an area for a whole massage?
Only at first glance: each hand has 27 bones, eight in the wrist, five in the palm and fourteen in the fingers and thumb. The fingertips carry up to 241 touch-sensitive nerve units per square centimetre of skin, which is why even a slow stroke of a thumb feels so distinct.
Is the oil warm?
If you like, we will gladly warm the argan oil for you. Your therapist also uses lotion and balm, and you lie on a heated table throughout.
How much does a hand and palm massage cost in Prague?
At the ESCAPE salon in Prague 1, a hand and palm massage costs 1,190 CZK for 30 minutes and 1,690 CZK for 60 minutes. Argan oil, a welcome drink and warm tea after the massage are included. You’ll find all our other massages in the price list.
